Peter Pellegrini was born on October 6, 1975, in Banská Bystrica. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica and also from the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University of Košice, specializing in finance, banking, and investing. He is fluent in English, German, and Russian.      He began his political career in 2002 as an assistant to a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
