Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (Lyons 29. 6. 1900 - in action 31. 6. 1944) - French writer and aviator who disappeared on a reconnaissance flight off the French coast during the Second World War. This commemorative issue celebrates the ideals of solidarity and brotherhood which so informed both the subject's life and his work. Saint-Exupéry was one of our century's major literary figures and the author of the widely translated works: "Southern Mail", "Night Flight", "Wind, Sand and Stars", "Flight to Arras", "The Little Prince", and "The Wisdom of the Sands".
