Gap section of valleys arc situated on Váh river and they connect the hollows separated by mountains - e.g. Kraľovany gap, Strečno gap, Púchov gap. Strečno gap is a gap section of the Váh river valley between Martin and Strečno. Váh river cuts here through Mala Fatra via a deep antecedent valley, in formation of which also fracture defects occured. In part of Turčianske Teplice the gap has almost direct direction, in Žilina part it creates three dug meanders.
