Jozef Murgaš (Tajov 17. 2. 1864 - Wilkes Barre, USA 23. 5. 1929 ) Inventor and pioneer in the field of radiotelegraphy. In 1904 Murgaš was granted two patents from the US Patent Office for his so-called "Tonsystem". In total he registered twelve patents in the USA, all concerning radiotelegraphy. He was the first anywhere in the world to broadcast the spoken word. He was granted patent priority for uninterrupted wireless transmission using the "Tonsystem" principle on January 7.th, 1916 in New York.
