Jozef Murgaš (Tajov 17. 2. 1864 - Wilkes Barre, USA 23. 5. 1929 ) Inventor and pioneer in the field of radiotelegraphy. In 1904 Murgaš was granted two patents from the US Patent Office for his so-called "Tonsystem". In total he registered twelve patents in the USA, all concerning radiotelegraphy. He was the first anywhere in the world to broadcast the spoken word.
